Lubbock dental office dentist Matt Breslin is having second thoughts about retiring and has been looking for a new dental practice.
“I’ve been in the business 30 years and I’ve never been able to find anyone who wants to be the best,” Bresline said.
He said he has never felt comfortable in his current job.
“It’s just not my cup of tea.
I just can’t do it.
It’s hard to work there.”
But Bresler is still open to retirement.
“This is not a time for me to be thinking about the future.
I’m in a good place,” he said.
“The only thing I can say is, when you’re working on your family and you’re on a tight budget and you have to get up in the morning and you’ve got to put in extra hours, you better be ready to make a decision.”
Bresling is the only dentist in Lubbocks dental office who is not part of the dentistry board, which is composed of dentists, nurses, assistants and students.
Breslings parents, who own a large business, don’t support his decision.
“They’re the only people that can say what’s right for me,” said his mother, Linda Breslins.
“So it’s not like we’re going to be fighting about it.
But we want him to be here.”
Linda Bresles decision will be a big factor in Bresli’s future, said his sister, Jennifer Breslews.
She’s not sure how long she’ll be able to work as a dental assistant, but said her brother and his parents have always supported him financially.
“He has a wonderful family,” she said.
But, Breslis parents are planning to start a dental practice, which will require his brother to be a dental officer.
The board says they are looking for someone who is motivated, who is committed to doing the job, and who is well-liked by the community.
Berslin said he doesn’t want to retire and is still looking for the right opportunity.
“We’ve got the best people, so if someone can get the job that we’re looking for, that’s great,” he told the news website.
“But I don’t know, there are plenty of other opportunities.”
