A California dentist has filed a lawsuit against a New York-based dental association over a wrongful termination lawsuit filed by his dental clinic.
The lawsuit claims the dental association and the group’s owners violated California law when it fired the dentist, Dr. Steven Pate.
Pate filed the suit in November in a Los Angeles court and is seeking unspecified damages.
Pate is a practicing dentist in L.A. who has performed more than 2,000 operations, including dental operations on more than 200 children.
In the suit, he says the dental organization did not give him a reasonable opportunity to explain why he was fired.
The suit also alleges that the dental group failed to make its termination agreement with Pate public and instead hid its decision.
